Sort of GREAT NEWS folks..

The Jio Phone is available in stores now, not in a huge number, but still.. available :)

I live in kolkata, and me or none of my friends got the message from Jio that said that our devices reached this store, go get it!!

I just went to a Jio store, and the people there told that the phone is available in the jio stores now. 

So, go to any Jio Store, give them the mobile number through which you registered for he jio Phone, and a Aadhar card, and get your Jio Phone right way.

Now, the Payment:

If you have booked Online, you have already paid Rs.500 while registering. 

so, now, while taking the phone, you have to pay a total of Rs.1153 [ 1000 for the phone, and Rs.153 for the first recharge]

Now, a little bit about the phone..

It has a Coloured display, micro usb connection, 3,5mm audio port, bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, and o yes- a Flash Light

The Jio Phone works only on a Jio Sim, ha volte support (obviously! ) 

You can do the unlimited calling and messaging thing with this phone.  The Internet, well, it has a browser, and a 4G internet speed, but, try to avoid it! 

So, if not surf the new, then how to exhaust the internet package, by watching Live TV via the Jio TV app, or listening to music via the Jio Music app, or reading online ews via Jio News App, and others [there's a Jio Store for this thing] 

The NFC - can be used for Jio money, i tried to share a file from an Android Device having NFC, but it didn't work! 

There's a jio video calling app, through which you can video call someone using the VGA front camera ... but.. you can video call someone having a Jio Phone ! Now WHAT IS THIS ??

Now the cameras, Good quality pictures in a small size (mostly 500kb) 

i mean good quality until you zoon into these pictures, but the colours are great in those pictures.

There are two cameras- a 2MP back and a VGA front camera.

The camera UI is a great one too.. It has timer, grid, and even HDR. I did not find any difference between the HDR and Non HDR pictures (only, the HDR pictures were 5KB more than the Non-HDR photos! )

The phone also has an inbuilt antenna for radio, so you donot have to always connect a headphone to listen to radio. The speaker quality is also great.

Talking about the quality, the call quality is also very good. the earpiece and microphone quality is very good.

Now, the Cool thing about the phone- the Jio Voice

First thing-  THIS THING ACTUALLY WORKS !!

It is like the first generation of the "Ok Google" thing, you can call someone, message someone, or call up an app by just telling it's name.

And, there's a lot in this 1500 phone . or, effectively Rs. 0 phone (is it true? )

Anyways, if you have ordered the phone previously, go get it from a Jio Store now, that's it for now.

Razer aquires Nextbit !! What about the phones??

Nextbit has announced that it has been acquired by Razer. So, it is not an independant startup company now.

And because of this deal, it will stop the sale of its phone- The Nextbit Robin, along with it's accessories.
It will, however, commit to honouring warranties for the next six months. It will also be releasing android security updates until February 2018.

Razer will continue to operate as an independent division inside of Razer to work on the mobile hardware and software division.

Razer, the company, is renowned for making one of the best devices when it comes to gaming laptops and accessories. Their computers are both powerful and beautiful. (The beauty differs from one person to another)

From Nextbit's point of view, being acquired by a larger company seemed like an inevitable next step. The Robin was a great phone, particularly as it got on in age and was regularly available for less than $200, but Nextbit never felt like it could carry on selling several generations phones primarily built around a single feature of seamless cloud backup.

 

Now, lets all hope that Nextbit does not stop designing awesome phones, with features that are somewhat different that the other ones in the market now.

The Largest Capacity Pen Drive in the World !!

Kingston just announced the world largest storage flash drive, the Data Traveler Ultimate GT.

The flash drive is available in either 1 or 2 terabytes of storage.

This is a lot of storage in a small thing like a USB drive, and not even most of the PCs or the laptops have this amount of storage.

The USB drive uses USB 3.1 adapter, which allows for a very fast data transfer speeds. But with that, some people with the latest device might need an adapter.

And with 2 terabytes of data, you can store upto 70 hours of 4k video, 96 average sized pc games, 500,000 mp3 files etc. CLick here to read the full article about it.

Now the price of the usb sticks has not yet been revealed, but whoever ill buy it, will ge a 5 years warranty with this one. 

The Wallpaper That Adapts to it's Surroundings !!

This is probably one of the best live wallpapers out now for android.

The name is chameleon..colour changing wallpaper, and it does what it says.

Now, this is a paid wallpaper, but if you pay for it, I hope you will not regret after buying it.

Setting up the wallpaper is the same as setting up any other live wallpapers.

Now, in the settings, there are some cool things that you can set. Starting from different layouts, you have some of them, and you can even set all of them, which will change the layouts when you tap on the screen.

Now, about the different colours, the app uses your phone’s camera, and the colour it captures, is produces in the wallpaper.

In the settings, you can also change that to some random colours, or, you can take a snapshot using your camera, and then the colour is used. This saves the battery life of your phone, while giving you the chameleon effect.

You can also see the camera preview in the bottom left corner of your screen if you want to.

And there are any more settings to go through.

And once you have set up the wallpaper, it looks… well, fabulous.

The always changing colures, with nice, smooth animations, and the contrast, in total is very beautiful.

And since this is the first day in the New Year, this might be just the app that you must download to make your phone also feel new, fresh, and very colourful.

LG G6 Pictures are HERE !!

Some pictures of the upcoming LG G6 has been leaked. And from the pictures, the dsign looks quite like that of the G5, but without the camera hump. But like it’s predecessor, the G6 will also be having the dual camera setup at the back.

A major change is the modularity aspect, which, there is no sign of. This might also mean that the phoe might not have a removable battery. And there are no buttons in the back this time also.

But, on the plus side, there is still the port for the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other details include the usb-c charging port. And, the phone might come with wireless charging this time…. might come though.

There is still time left for unveiling the device, and things may get different then.

New Nokia Phone Leaked !!

A new Nokia Phone receives the China Compulsory Certification (3C). The phone is listed as TA-1000.
The device comes wit a 5V/2A charging support, but that's all is known for now.

Since no other details about the devices has been revealed, it is not likely to be a flagship-as it does not have a fast/quick charge support.

The phone is rumored to have a Snapdragon Chipset, and a 5.5 inch Display. And it might be coming with Android Nougat

How to get Manual Focus in ANY Android Smartphone !!!

Not many android phones still have the manual controls like that in the iPhone and windows phones.

This app lets you have just that.

The app’s name is bacon camera.

The interface is pretty simple, if you set everything to auto. You have three modes, photo, video and panorama.

There is nothing new in the panorama, you can take the picture from any direction.

Coming to photos, in the lower art, you can set a timer, or set up a timelapse session. And then, at the top, you have the toggles for flash, manual mode, other options, a beta program for multi exposure, and switching between two cameras.

Now, more options, you can set the scene, colour effect,skin tone, etc.

And then, the manual setings, where you can set the iso, white balance, and the focus.

Now, the phone that I am using is the redmi 2 prime, and it does not have manual focus.

So, now, clicking on the focus icon gives you to manually focus at whatever length you want.

There are many other apps in the play store that really does not work, but this does. And quite nicely.

So set your focus at your desired length, and shoot the picture.

This manual focusing feature is also present in the video option, which is really helpful.

The bacon camera also lets you take timelapse videos in here, where you can set the time interval in seconds, minutes or hours , and let your camera capture beautiful videos.

In the settings, there are a lot of things to choose from. And here, you can also save raw images, which helps in editing later.

In the video settings, you can toggle between the autofocus mode, video bitrate histogram, and lot others.

So, the bacon camera is in total a really nice camera app, which lets you do a lot more with your android camera, that the native app does not let you to do.

Pokemon Go Comes in India !!

Pokémon go is officially launching in India on December 15th , meaning that you can download it directly from the play store, and app store. And as always, windows is not getting the game!! 

The game launched in partnership with reliance jio. And with this, many of the reliance digital stores and select partner premises will become the pokestops and gyms.

And, on jio chat, players have access to an exclusive Pokémon go channel. This will enable Pokémon go players to collaborate and be part of a community. Which will provide daily tips, clues, and notifications about any social events happening.

And if you have played Pokémon go previously, then, in the latest update there has been some changes, in which, you will be able to transfer multiple Pokémon at a time to professor willow at once.

The start-up screen has also changed, with a Christmassy feeling to it.

There are more pokemons coming, whom, you can get by hatching. And you also might get one Christmas pikachu, between now, and December 29^th.

So, now that you officially have the Pokémon go in the stores, you might want to play it all day long, and that means that you phone will be out of juice very quickly, and you will not be able to play the game smoothly.

The only solution to this problem is carrying a power bank with you. So, if you do not have one, well, this is the time to have one.

The Pokémon go did take a long time to make its way to India. But since it is here, download the app, and start catching some Pokémons that appear in your way.

How to Empty Recycle Bin Automatically in Windows 10

After you click on the delete button, the file goes to the recycle bin, and sometimes, you forget to delete the files from there, which takes up the space from the same disk where your system files are located, thus decreasing the available space.

So, what you can do is you can make a schedule for deleting the files automatically from the recycle bin.

In order to do that, go to start and open task scheduler

There, in the task scheduler library, right click and select New Folder

Name the folder My Tasks or anything like that

Right-click the newly created folder and select Create task On the General tab, enter a name for the task, such as Empty Windows Recycle Bin.

On the Triggers tab, click New to create an action that will trigger the task

Now, here, you can choose from different trigger actions, but for this video, we will be selecting on a schedule

Then fill the blanks as per your will, but since you are emptying the recycling bin, it will be good that you consider using the weekly or monthly option.

After that click on ok

On the actions tab, click on NEW

Under Settings, on Programs/script enter cmd.exe.

Under Settings, on Add arguments enter the following argument and clickOK

/c "echo Y|PowerShell.exe -NoProfile -Command Clear-RecycleBin"

Then, click on OK to complete task

Once you have completed the steps, the task will run automatically at the trigger condition you have configured

Panorama Feature Comes to Windows Phone

With the latest insider update after the anniversary update, the panorama feature has been added to the native camera app of Lumia devices.

Heres the video :: 

So, now when you launch the camera app, you will be getting the panorama icon to the left of the camera icon. And now, you can also rotate between the three icons. That is a pretty nice thing!

The panorama feature is only one directional, meaning that it only captures and stitches those pictures from left to right. But, the stitching is pretty smooth and quick, which helps you to move your phone quite quickly.

And after you are done capturing them, the panoramic pictures can be found in the gallery, with all the other photos.

Along with the integration of this feature, the digital image stabilization has also been updated.

So this feature might be coming to the official updates pretty soon.

How to book an Uber for other people !!

Now, you can book an Uber for a person who is at any other place.

In order to book a cab for them, open the Uber app, and go to the place where your friend is right now, and click on “set pickup location”. Then, you will be getting an option of for whom is this ride for, and there, you have to click on someone else, and then find their contact.

Now, select the payment option, and then request your cab.

Once done, your friend will be getting a confirmation in the form of SMS , and they will be ready to ride with Uber.

Now, keep in mind that this function works finely with the latest version of Uber app.

Quadrooter is a type of virus which is found affecting over 900Million Android Devices having Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipsets.

Inorder to check if your phone is affected by the quadrooter, just download thequadroot checker app from the play store, Link Here

After installing the app, open it, and click to scan. It will take some time, and show if you are clean or affected.

So now if you are affected, can you do anything?

First of all click on the affected codes and  see what all the codes given means, and what damage they may cause to your phone.

Then, try to install apps from the play store only, and not any third party websites. Secondly, try to install any software updates that your company provides, and keep your phone updated.

After that, tweet about your problem to the company, so that they can release the latest google security updates so that your phone stays protected. These things might stop any hacker trying to get root access to your phone by any means.

Indian Train Simulator for Android !!

If you are crazy about trains, and always wanted to have a real experience of the Indian railways from inside the cab, then, here’s the perfect simulator for you.

The name is Indian Train Simulator. And it is the real deal, unlike the other simulators which show one type of pictures in the play store page, and a completely different thing when you install and open it.

So, the game is pretty small.

In the game, you have different types of locomotives, and coaches of the Indian Railways. Now, some of them are pre-installed, but others have to be downloaded and installed from the app. All of them are free till now.

There are basically two routes, one from Chennai Central to Bangalore, and another one is from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. The first route is pre-installed, but you have to install the second one.

All the download sizes inside the app are relatively small.

Now, let’s go to the gameplay. You have 4 options here:

·         Career: Here, you have three missions which you have to download, and then complete.

·         Play now: here, you will be given a random task, and you have to complete that.

·         Express: In this, you can choose to drive one of the many express trains listed here. This also contains the Rajdhani, Shatabdi expess, etc.

·         And Custom: Here, you can choose a random locomotive, a coach, and route, and then drive on it.

Once you have chosen the type, let’s get into the gameplay.

The game tries to maintain the originality of the locomotive, and inside the cab.

Sad part is that none of the gauges actually work. You have the regulator in the right hand side, and in the left, you have different toggles like headlamps, cabin light, horn, different camera angles, and the emergency brake.

So, when you get the green light, you are good to go, but when you get the red light, you will be seeing what’s in front of you that is making the signal red.

Once you get going, you have to drive carefully, obeying the speed limits, so that you do not lose points at the last part.

You also have to brake gently so that the comfort level does not get to low.

And once you reach the destination, you will get your results, and your simulation will be successful.
